Beetroot is the taproot portion of the beet plant and is also known as the red or golden beet, garden beet, or table beet or even just the beet.
It is one of he several varieties of beet grown for their edible taproots and or greens.
It is often picked and stored and sold in jars in supermarkets or grocery stores.
So can chinchillas eat beetroot at all?

In particular their acidic, phosphorus, calcium, sugar, and fat content are of most interest.
As you can see beetroot contains some phosphorus, a little calcium, but contains quite a bit of sugar, and a high amount of acid.
This makes it not a good food for chinchillas to eat as they are just too acidic.
