So can chinchillas eat tomatoes at all?

This means that chinchillas cannot eat tomatoes. Unlike guinea pigs and rabbits, chinchillas just cannot handle the acidic nature of the tomato and will hurt their stomach. So they are best kept away from them for risk of making them very ill.
Can chinchillas eat tomato plants and leaves?
Unfortunately Chinchillas cannot eat tomato plants, stalks, vines or leaves. They are completely poisonous to chins and will harm them if they are eaten.
