Pine nuts are the edible seeds of pines. There are around 20 species of pines that produce seeds large enough to harvest. They are often eaten as a snack.
So can chinchillas eat pine nuts?
Lets take a look at their nutritional data and find out more. In particular, their acidic, calcium, sugar, fat, and phosphorus content is of most interest as far as chinchillas are concerned.
As you can see, pine nuts have a huge amount of phosphorus, acidic content and fat. This means that they are not good for chinchillas at all. They will make them sick if they are eaten and will hurt them.
