Peaches are the fruit of the deciduous tree that shares that same name. They are native the north west China and are closely related to the almond.

They are the same species as the nectarine and are largely produced in China today.

So can chinchillas eat peaches at all?

As you can see peaches contain a hint of phosphorus, calcium, quite a bit of acidic content and a lot of sugar. Because of their sugar content this means that they can be fed to chinchillas in small amounts on a weekly basis. Just be careful with the amount that you feed them as they are quite sweet and too much will hurt their tummy.

When you chop it up, throw away the stone. They can also eat the skin as well as the flesh.
