Honey is a food which is made by bees by way of using nectar from flowers.
Their are various types of honey but for the purpose of this article, we refer to that which is made by honey bees.
Honey bees will convert nectar into honey by a process of regurgitation and evaporation and will store it as a primary food source in wax honeycombs inside the beehive.
The honey is then scooped out for human consumption.
So can chinchillas eat honey at all?
Unfortunately they can’t eat honey at all. Honey is very sweet and incredibly harmful for chinchillas and will make them sick not to mention harming their tummies.
So keep it away from chinchillas.
