Also known as string beans, snap beans or ejotes in Mexico, green beans are the unripe fruit of various cultivars of the common bean. They are known for the flavour, fleshiness, and sweetness of their pods.
So can chinchillas eat green beans at all?
Lets take a look at their nutritional data and find out more. In particular their acidic, sugar, phosphorus, fat and calcium content is of most interest.
As you can see green beans contain a little calcium, phosphorus, and a lot of acidic content.
This means unfortunately that chinchillas cannot eat green beans at all. Because of their acidic content they will make them ill if they do eat them so they should be avoided as a chinchilla food.
