Corn otherwise known as Maize is a large grain plant that has a leafy stalk that produces ears which contain the grain, which seeds are called kernels.
Corn comes in various forms when it is eaten. It is always cooked either roasted, grilled, or boiled and is eaten around the world in various guises.
So can chinchillas eat corn at all?
Lets take a look at their nutritional data and find out more, in particular we are interested in their acidic, phosphorus, sugar, and fat content.
As you can see corn contains a lot of phosphorus, acidic content, and sugar. This means that chinchillas cannot eat corn at all. It is just too bad for them and will hurt their tummies.
This means that any kind of corn is out of bounds for them whether it is fresh, cooked or canned. Steer clear of feeding it to chinchillas.
