Arugula is a dark green herb with peppery leaves which are usually put into salads or cooked. They have a peppery mustard flavour and tehir smooth dark green spiky leaves look quite like dandelion leaves.

They are also known as roquette, rucola, rugula, colewort or rocket.

As you can see arugula contains a little sugar but a lot of calcium. This means that chinchillas can eat a little arugula, but not too much of it as too much calcium is not good for chins.

So a little once a week is fine but not much more than that with other greens.
