As you can see basil contains a large amount of phosphorus, a very large amount of calcium, and is quite acidic.

This makes it particularly bad for chinchillas which is quite surprising as being a green herb, you would think it would be good for them to eat.

But its high calcium and phosphorus content makes is a bad food for chins to eat.

If they happen to eat a little of it, then they should be fine but anything more and they may become ill.

This makes them not good for chinchillas and will cause them stomach upsets because of their acidic and sugary nature if they have too much of them. As you can see, asparagus contains quite a lot of phosphorus, a lot of acidic content, and a little sugar and fat content.

This means it is not good for chinchillas to eat. Its acidic content is just too much for them. If they do happen to have a little of it, they will be fine but it should not be fed to them intentionally.

As you can see arugula contains a little sugar but a lot of calcium. This means that chinchillas can eat a little arugula, but not too much of it as too much calcium is not good for chins.

So a little once a week is fine but not much more than that with other greens.
